Inspect and control training jobs

Keep the job ID returned by submission, inspect progress and terminal state, and distinguish cancelling execution from deleting records or releasing compute.

List jobs in the active environment

Check the workspace and endpoint before deciding that a job is missing. Managed platform job IDs and direct runtime job IDs refer to different execution paths.

Read one job

Inspect state, latest progress, failure detail and artifact location. A queued or running job has not produced a completed result. Preserve the error and configuration before retrying, especially when another attempt would provision capacity.

Request cancellation

Cancellation support depends on the job kind and execution backend. Runtime RL and PEFT SFT jobs support the cancellation path; runtime D2L training can run to completion. Re-read the job state to confirm the outcome. Separately check whether any provisioned instance still needs terminating.

Keep the execution target consistent

Use the same endpoint context you used to submit the job. --endpoint selects a direct runtime; it cannot turn an unrelated platform job ID into a runtime ID. Continue to Evaluation once a compatible artifact is available.
